To complete the application you will need:
- Copies of academic transcripts from each university that you have attended (merged into a single PDF). Please label file “Last name-Transcripts.”
- Names and contact information (telephone and email address) of two referees who will submit letters of recommendation on your behalf. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that both letters are submitted as early as possible and before the final deadline. Reference letters should be completed by faculty members of courses you have taken, labs you have worked in, or academic supervisors. Please request them to be emailed to simr-microbiology@ufl.edu.
- A copy of your resume or CV. Please label file “Last name-Resume.”
- A one-page personal statement describing your interest in a microbiology internship. Please label file “Last name-Personal Statement.”
Files can be uploaded in .doc, docx, or .pdf format. The application deadline is December 31, 2023. We will contact applicants who meet preliminary selection criteria by email to arrange a Zoom interview with members of the SIMR administration. This interview is not a guarantee of acceptance into the program. Applicants will be notified of acceptance into the program by email. Applicants have 7 days to accept or decline the offer.
Applicants not accepted into the program will be notified by email no later than April 15, 2024.

The application deadline for the 2024 SIMR program was December 31, 2023. The application for the 2025 program will be announced mid-2024.
